I spent last weekend at Las Sirenas in Santa Clara, Panama.  It's a little tricky to find if you miss the sign for Santa Clara. Driving in from Panama City you just have to look for the sign to Santa Clara. Turn left and then you'll start to see signs for Las Sirenas. It's off the beaten path.

Las Sirenas was a great place to relax and the customer service was excellent. The white sand beaches were clean and quiet. The grounds are covered in gardens full of flowering Bougainvilleas. When you first arrive your eyes will not know what to look at first. The beach. The cottages. The flowers.

There are two types of cottages (uphill & downhill) and both are shaded under large beautiful trees. Uphill cottages have nice views and twin beds. Downhill is closer to the beach and has a king size bed. Each cottage has hammocks and outdoor seating as well as access to nice outdoor grills. When you're ready to grill the grounds staff will come and light them for you. The cottages also have kitchens and there is an El Rey (grocery store) not far up the highway. They will sleep up to 4 (or six) but it's more comfortable for two. There is only one airconditioner and it's in the main bedroom. There is also cable T.V. in the bedroom but shame on you if you're watching T.V. instead of swinging from your hammock.

My dog, Hulkum, and I went on a photo scavenger hunt for funny signs in Panama. We made a video and of course he hogs the camera. (Video below)

This one is particulary funny because I think it's supose to be a child. I have never seen a child with a physic like this, that's for sure. This sign can be found near parks.
